In a larger crowd it can often be hard to connect!  That’s why we highly recommend volunteering on one of our teams or joining a small group!  To learn more about how you can get involved click here, to learn more about joining a Group click here!

Tracy’s Farewell

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Hey everyone, it’s Tracy and in case you weren’t here on Sunday night, I thought it was important that you got a chance to hear the latest news.  Here’s what I read at the Project after I spoke…

Sunday, June 21, 2009:

“Most of you know that this has been a huge year of change for Rob and I – one full of challenges but one of the best in our lives. But it has also been one of deep learning about the push and pull of home versus ministry. And so tonight, I am formally submitting my resignation. This process started for Rob and I way back at the end of last year and truly, we weren’t really sure that anything would come of it, but in the end, I took the Assistant Pastor position at my dad’s church in Kitchener, Ontario. Our final Sunday with you guys will be August 23rd.

Let me tell you what brought us to this decision. This job is crazy and I love it. I love the pace of it, I love how Sundays happen and I like to be just shy of insane for the better part of my week. This, however, is not working for Tracy the Mommy. So we started to pray that way, asking God to help us find a balance in our lives between family and ministry and he answered our prayers in this unexpected way. Until the final decision was made a few weeks ago, I don’t think we truly believed that we would be going anywhere but that we’d see a new path through our current position. But God had other plans and has sparked our hearts for a new ministry, huge new challenges and a new pace of life for our kids.

This was the hardest decision I can ever remember making in my lifetime. We are addicted to you, to your passion, your energy, your talent and of course, your friendship. We are excited for the kids to know their grandparents, but truly, we only gain one set of grandparents and lose dozens of Uncles and Aunties who love our kids almost as much as we do. We deeply feel all that we are going to be leaving behind and we’re not taking it in stride. We’re grieving this part of things in a real way.

This is not the time for good-byes or speeches; you will have those coming to you two months from now. For now, just know that we aren’t resigning flippantly or without knowing how great you all are or how good it is to be a part of the family here. We will take everything you’ve poured into us and make good use of it in another part of Canada and I guess that’s a very good thing.”

We’re still processing all of this ourselves and have been caught in the flurry of details that come with buying and selling houses and cars and just generally moving your family 2500 miles away. But we’re excited and almost over the exhaustion and we have some great stories to tell already. Thanks for the encouragement and support that we’ve already been given and are feeling.

Atmosphere Team

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

The Atmosphere Team is a really unique way to get involved at The Project. We dream about how we can make the stage and lobby a part of the spiritual journey on Sunday nights and then we make it happen. It really is a lot of fun to create and be inspired together.

We’ve got some openings on the team and I’d love to talk to you about making this a way for you to dig deeper at The Project.
Email me or catch me on Sunday. rachelle@mwpa.com
